Kalamity J is not merely an author, but also a bad mamma-jamma with superpowers. In her free time, she fights crime (x-ray goggles), cures disease (dissector beam), and world hunger (big pots of macaroni), all in addition to teaching Siamese kittens to walk on their hind legs (humming the waltz). Through rigorous training, she has also mastered operating chopsticks between her toes (but rice is a bitch).

After receiving her award as poet laureate, she ran immediately to the dictionary to find out just what the hell a 'laureate' actually was. Unfortunately, she lost interest before flipping far enough to hit the 'L' pages. It's just as well considering those poems were a little on the depressing side anyway.  Her knowledge of words beginning with 'A' is far superior and for this she prefers the term 'poet aeronaut'. Kalamity J spends her summers on unhealthy weight loss plans, writing trite smut, and Winnebago racing.

She earned her B.A. from the UCLA School of Film and Television and her MFA in Creative Writing at California State University. That was expensive.  So, buy her books.
